About Me
I have 58 years of experience in the area of education. I started my career as a high school German and history teacher in a large school system outside Washington, DC but, eventually, moved into the area of institutional technology, learning new hardware and software then teaching teachers and administrators how to use it. After retirement from Fairfax County Schools (Virginia), I continued doing much the same in the schools of education at George Washington and the University of Virginia. Having always enjoyed photography, I began teaching photography classes. I decided I wanted to learn how to sketch and embarked onto another new passion that turned into a sketching and watercolor painting hobby which I then also taught.
Things I Produce
I love making things. I enjoy photography and make images of scenes that interest me as well as making formal portraits of people. A few years ago I began sketching and that evolved into adding watercolor to my sketches. I sketch scenes but primarily buildings. I do house commissions where I produce a watercolor painting of someone’s home. Most recently I have taken up woodworking and have become especially interested in turning bowls and lidded boxes on the lathe.
